This project, completed in the Fall of 2015 entailed renovating the entire east end of an existing timber frame house on two levels, built overlooking Cusheon Lake on Salt Spring Island.

The particular challenge was to provide a design solution for a full demolition and reconstruction of several areas with a focus on the main level kitchen that when completed would blend seamlessly with the existing open Kitchen / Dining and Living areas and would not read as a new ‘stand alone’ piece.

Other elements of the program for the Main Level called for conversion of an existing exterior porch into a mudroom entry and laundry, relocation of powder room and small pantry to new locations, a new outdoor kitchen under a timber frame glass canopy, and a ‘wine gallery’ cooler providing a convenient focal point for collectible wines.
